Reserves v Rockleaze Rangers A home
A top of the league clash on a windy St Bede’s with a great crowd today and the boys were
up for a big test against a solid team in Rockleaze A
We started off really well and was pushing for goals at every opportunity, we got on the
score sheet after about 15 mins Cody Winkler pounced and a strong shot that stuck the back
of the net which he been threatening to do every week.
The Second came from Tom Cox who stood on the edge of the area from a corner and as
the ball came out hit a cracking right foot shot like Robin hoods arrow into the goal.
We started to unsettle them and were pushing for a more goals and after some great team
play, we found Rhys O’Donovan who struck the 3rd goal.
Just on half time a Rockleaze defender and 1 of our players slid for a ball on the corner byline
and clashed with the fence and lower wood edging resulting in a the shoulder of the
Rockleaze player dislocating his shoulder we have enquired and sent our best wishes and
they have confirmed he has gone home from hospital and on the road to recovery so The
second half we were on the back foot possibly taking the foot off the gas they scored a goal
and rattled us, fortunately we held out until 75 mins when they scored a second and now 3
2 up were under the cosh we made some changes,
Some resolute defending by the team for the last 15 of the game showed strong character.
The Hatrick hero form last week Regan Trump came on and 8 mins from time ghosted into
the back post and tucked away his 4th in 2 games making the game safe.
As always Robbie Maddox Riley, Charlie and Mark stayed strong at the back and all the subs
added fresh legs at a vital time, apologies to Omar who didn't get on but the game was very
tight and could have gone either way,
Ben Walters was back to his best charging around keeping their midfield danger man quiet
       most of the time.
So a massive 4 2 home win for the boys and showed we can battle and dig deep for 90 mins
       when we need to
Well done the boys massive 3 points today
Clarky and Stretch thank you both with the usual pre match running about and stretch for

       A Team v Bristol Wanders 1st
Avonmouth A made the short trip to Severn beach this weekend to play Bristol Wanderer’s
in the first round of the cup.
The first half was a close affair with both teams having great chances to take the lead in a
       well-disciplined battle.
The pitch was wet and didn’t help either side trying to play football. The biggest chance of
the half fell to the A’s top goals scorer Cameron Cafferkey who blazed over the bar from close
       range.
The second half club legend Darren Harvey was back from injury to assure up the midfield
with young u18’s player Jack Sunmers and older head Matthew Sweet.
Avonmouth took control and Cameron put his chance away this time after being put through.
5 minutes later Ashley west rolled back the years scoring a 30 yard screamer.
After this it was one way traffic. Cameron picking up another 2 to grab his Hatrick.
New signing Lewis Carr wrapped things up to make it 5 with the best team goal with him
smashing home from 15 yards out.
The A’s move into league action this week with a home game against Bromley, looking to
make it 3 wins in a row. Man of match - Ashley West.
