A few words from the manager...

FILTON ATHLETIC 4 - 0 CHELTENHAM CIVIL SERVICE (28th September 2024)

“A solid enough performance from the lads on Saturday, We had a few players
returning from injury and holiday which made a massive difference. We started

the game a bit slowly and the game was a bit scrappy but the lads stuck to the
game plan to press high which in the end came off in the first half leading to
our first goal. This settled the lads nerves and relieved some pressure from
what was said in the changing room before as we knew it was a must win for
us.

Cheltenham were well drilled and very brave, they clearly wanted to play at

every opportunity but we stopped that and got the second before half time.
In the second half we were very dominant but not quite clinical enough which
in closer games will cost us at this level. All credit to Cheltenham they never

stopped and forced us to compete at every moment.

All in all a great result and great response from the lads after the previous two
games. We are now 10 points from 15, so on track with a tough October
coming up so let’s see where we are after that.”
