Avonmouth v Cheltenham Civil Service
Both sides and the crowd of 85 were delighted the game was on despite
the recent heavy rain that made the surface slippery but playable and it was
Cheltenham who had the best of the opening 15 minutes with Declan Chick
firing over on 7 minutes after good work from Ollie Wilkes. It wasn’t until
the 19 minute that Avonmouth threatened and following a great move on
             th
the left wing and a deflected shot forced Cheltenham keeper Harvey Need
into a good save. And just a minute later a corner by Matty Groves found
Charlie Aldom at the back post whose header sneaked under the defender’s
legs and over the line to put Avonmouth 1 up. Just 6 minutes later Aldom
was injured and had to be substituted. In the 38 minute there was a good
                                                     th
chance for Cheltenham from a corner when the ball bounced around in the
box and was cleared for a corner. With just a minute of the first half
remaining Avonmouth’s Kyle O'Donovan doubled the score with a well-
placed shot from the edge of the box.

Right at the start of the second half Cheltenham again started the best and
Brett Blake scored to reduce the arears to one. Just a minute later
Avonmouth keeper Tom Bradley was called into action to tip over Lewis
Driscoll’s shot. On the hour following a pass over the defence by
Avonmouth’s George Brown to Josh Pearce who calmly slotted home to
restore their two-goal lead. It was then Matt Groves turn to find Pearce to
fire the ball past keeper Need to increase Avonmouth’s lead to 4-1. The
home side were now in total
                                                   control with centre back Mark
                                                   Williams striding forward with
the ball and striking a fierce
                                                   shot from well outside the
box just over the bar. In an
                                                   engaging game it was then
                                                   Cheltenham’s turn to take
                                                   control calling on Bradley to
                                                   confidently pluck several
crosses from the air. Right in
                                                   the final minutes, and with
arguably the best goal of the
                                                   game was scored by
                                                   Cheltenham’s Blake who fired
                                                   an unstoppable shot into the
