A few words from the manager...
BROMLEY HEATH UNITED 4 - 2 FILTON ATHLETIC (14th September 2024)
“An eye opening last couple of weeks for us as a really great start to the
season came at a cost with a lot of injuries picked up. So we went into the
Bromley game in a situation we hadn’t been in before in the past few seasons,
with a lot of players missing which is always difficult but is even tougher when
playing at a higher level against opponents you know nothing about.
We went into the game with only 2 defenders available so we knew a clean
sheet would be unlikely and we were going to have to try and out score
Bromley. Unfortunately, in my opinion we came up against the best opposition
we have faced yet this season. We looked dangerous going forward as always
and missed some good chances, however, so did Bromley and we were out
played all over the park.
If I’m honest it was a fair result and flattered us a bit as could have been worse.
The lads were asked to play out of position and did so without complain, they
ran as hard as always but in certain areas we were far too weak on and off the
ball, which is something we will need to address. The lads have actually turned
up to training this week so hopefully we will regroup and push back in the right
direction this week”
