return the ball low back across the box, Jordan Williams managed to toe the ball on to
Oaklan Buck who used his knee to finish from close range; ugly, but effec ve! 2-1 67’
Perks made another change with Josh Egan replacing the injured Danny Barwood, Withey
dropping back to right back with White returning to his preferred centre back posi on.
It didn’t take long for Egan to have an impact and three minutes a er halving the deficit
the Foxes were level.
McLennan again worked hard to keep the ball in play down the right, and found Withey,
who had underlapped him. Withey squared first- me to Egan who swept his finish first
me into the bo om corner 2-2 70’.
Almost from the restart Williams and Buck broke away, Buck nearly comple ng the
turnaround with his le -footed shot from a ght angle, the ball dri ing agonisingly across
the face of goal.
The visitors were definitely ascendant, and sensing blood they were definitely looking for
a winner, rather than beimg contented with a draw. The hosts were ra led as if the life had
been sucked out of them, desperately trying to rally, which they did for a while, but the
game de was fully turned in the 76th minute.
A corner from the Brislington le was delivered hard and flat by Egan, Zoy’s Hamblin could
only glance the ball at the near post, his touch carrying it all the way to the back post
where Lewis Dunn finished with his head into an empty net. 2-3 76’ Played.
The demoralised home side looked dejected and the visitors now had a spring in their step.
More crucially they now had something they’d worked very hard for to defend. The Foxes
suffered another injury blow, this me to Bn Withey who looks to have turned his ankle
whilst challenging for the ball.
He was replaced by Callum Pritchard, who once again proved he’s good enough to
compete at this level, even a er receiving a heavy knock to the nose, the youngster was
unfazed, showing no hesita on in looking to get back on the ball.
Middlezoy started to throw bodies forward and the last ten minutes saw them try the
same route that had got them earlier success by going direct. However, the Foxes' defence
now looked more switched-on and were dealing with everything thrown at them with
composure. There were a couple of late scares (mainly for us bystanders) when an
unchallenged midfielder was able to take a free shot at Dorrington from outside the 18-
yard-box and the inevitable ’late corners’ that always provide some nervous an cipa on,
but the away side were able to see out the game.
Again, not as convincing as you’d like, but certainly a show of character a er a
disappoin ng start.
