Where did the close season go. It does not seem like nearly 3 months ago
we were picking up the Division 1 tle. But here we are again at the start of
a new season.
Persky has managed to keep most of last years squad together. George
Dorrington & Danny Barwood have re red and Jordan Me ers has stepped
up a division to join Welton. Thanks to the 3 players for their contribu on
last season. Especially Danny Barwood who was a great servant to the club.
In come Goalkeeper Charlie Phillips from Radstock & Defender Ben Withey
from Frome Town. We welcome both players to the club.
In the only other change Kev Hazell has stepped away from his 1st Team
du es as assistant manager & Physio. Kev has been involved in the playing
side for 22 years now with the 3rd team, Reserves & 1st team and felt the
end of last season it was me to step down. He will con nue as Secretary.
Thanks Kev for all your hard work.
On to this season now. We know we are there to be shot at and every club
will want to turn Bris over. Every game will be ba le. But we have a good
enough squad to deal with it.
We face new boys Cribbs Reserves today and expect this to be a tough start
to the season. We are not sure of what kind of squad they will send with the
Southern League not star ng for a couple of weeks.
We then face AEK Boco on Tuesday night who are under new management
following Spenny Thomas stepping down last season.
We then face a tough FA Cup clash against Wessex League Sha esbury FC
next Saturday who have former Bristol City Striker Bre Pitman in their
squad who scored goals for fun last season.
Enjoy the game and lets hope we can reach the level of last seaso
