Christmas food boxes for cancer patients $ 3,671

For fiscal year 2019 (June 1, 2018 to May 31, 2019) volunteers at the DCCS office have given 150
hats/turbans and/or scarves; 176 wigs; 42 breast prosthesis and/or bras. Our volunteers also assisted
1,250 visitors and answered 650 telephone calls. During this time, our volunteers have logged 2,373.67
hours.
During this time period, Douglas County cancer patients came to us with many different types of
cancer including brain, breast, bladder, bone, lymph node, bowel, stomach, cervical, colon,
esophageal, genetic hemochromatosis glioblastoma, leukemia, large cell lymphoma, liver, lung,
macroglobulinemia, malignant neoplasm of cloacogenic zone, myeloma, oral, ovarian, tongue,
pancreatic, peritoneal, prostrate, rectal, shunt, thyroid, tonsil and lymphnode, uterine and
waldenstroms macroglobulinoma cancers.
It is an honor to assist cancer patients, ease their burden and allow for them to focus on healing.
The DCCS Board of Directors constantly strive to provide support and services to cancer patients. If
you or anyone you know is in need of the support and services DCCS provides, please contact us or go to
