Rolls-Royce Debuts Cullinan SUV and Adamas Black Badge Collection Wraith and Dawn.
Rolls-Royce has a thoroughly-deserved reputation as “The Best Car In The World,” and after more than a century of throw- ing strikes right down the middle of the luxury zone, the
company has recently added some surprising, but welcome, new pitches to its legacy repertoire of Ghost and Phantom -- the Wraith, a bad- boy fastball that has muscle car devotees aspir- ing to the major leagues; and the Dawn convertible, a splitter with a dual personality seemingly de- signed speci cally for Palm Beach.
And 2019 will see the debut of two more – an elegant slider in the form of the limited edition “Black Badge Adamas Col- lection” of Wraiths and Dawns adorned with carbon ber and diamonds; and a Hall of Fame curve ball called Cullinan, the rst SUV in Rolls-Royce history -- and
most lavishly appointed, o -road-capa- ble vehicle ever built.
However unlikely this may seem, consid- er: in the early years of the last century,
armored cars.
In keeping with this tradition, press the ‘O -Road’ button in the Cullinan’s center
console and you’re good
to go for mud, snow, sand and water up to 21 inches deep... all while snug- gled comfort- ably in the lap of luxury. Or head for the highway and waft along at 155 miles per hour.
Under the hood is a 6.75-liter, turbocharged V-12 delivering 563 horsepower to the ground
through all four wheels (another rst
in Rolls-Royce history). Computer-con- trolled multi-link suspension, air springs and rear-wheel steering all contribute to making the o -road feel like you’re still on-road.
Cullinan
when paved roads ended at the city lim- its, Rolls-Royce developed a reputation for durability under extreme conditions; Maharajas in India drove Rolls-Royces, as did wealthy sheep farmers in Australia. Lawrence of Arabia commanded a eet of nine Rolls-Royces in the Sinai Desert during World War I, six of them bodied as
