Paddock Life thought for our Adrenaline issue Tyler Shields images would be a perfect fit, being powerful and stirring, with the images playing with notions of gaze, power structures and along with this the hyper-realism adding to a stunning selection of images.
We love the fact that he will not think twice about setting a Rolls Royce on fire, that must have been an adrenaline rush to be on that shoot, only one shot at that Tyler... What Rolls Royce think about that I would love to know, in fact we may well find out, as quite a few people at Rolls Royce read the magazine. Tyler will happily destroy a $100,000 Hermes Birkin bag with a chain saw for that perfect shot, my kind of photographer, on the edge, don’t think I would get away with doing that to some of the cars I am lent to shoot for Paddock-life though...
Tyler Shields is also known for working with the elite young actors of our generation, including stars of Glee, Mad Men, Twilight and particularly the wild-star Lindsay Lohan.
Tyler’s goal is to sell the most expensive photo ever. He is on course to achieve just that with one image selling for £12,500 at a Phillips auction in 2014. We wish him well with his goal.
To sum up Tyler Shields, his photos are a provocative and tell a story with his vivid and unique imagination. He inspires creative-thought and juxtaposition that makes you stare and think, rather than just look.
We like his work so much we will be featuring Tyler again in another issue, but can’t disclose anymore as not to spoil the surprise so watch out and look forward to being amazed at his scope and diversity.
