P. 95

We are always ready for a challenge, competing against one another is a cave man instinct and it is pre-programmed in our genes. The hormone – adrenaline - is one of the main factors, which fuels the body to go further, faster and higher than ever before, in times of war Adrenaline is a key factor when the brave military service men and women have to make the ultimate sacrifice.
I love the expression “work hard and play hard” but in this fast hectic life we live, we must remember to take care of our bodies too. Fortunately science has provided us with award winning remedies to keep us in tip top shape and push back the signs of life’s excesses, like premature ageing, wrinkles, hair loss, tiredness, hangovers and most importantly, dehydrated skin. Dr Gabriela Mercik, our life style health expert, is the leading light in this field and her clinic, 56 Harley Street, has already become the mecca for international Royalty, Rock, Movie and Sports stars and the elite super-rich party set. .
I asked Dr Gabriela what we should do to stay looking young and what was the secret to looking fresh and healthy after driving a 1000 miles in a classic open top Maserati on the Mille Miglia, Surfing the waves in Hawaii, climbing Mount Everest and partying all night in the Amber Lounge at the Yas Marina?
Dr Gabriela explained;
“I worked in hospital’s cardiology units with patients whose health was decaying rapidly and life and death was in the balance. This was my job fighting against death to restore life on a daily basis. This gamble was very dangerous and sometimes risky – it required a lot of skill, attention and personal involvement. I almost always won.”
“My new mission in life is to keep everyone looking beautiful and happy so I used all my skills and experience to create a range of unique skin and hair care products which I am proud to say keep winning awards all over the world”. My patients just love the intense hydration and protection from the elements which these products deliver for them.
“Remember too that Adrenaline is both an enemy and a friend. It is released when you’re under extreme pressure, stress or fear. Adrenaline could enable you to do something truly amazing, even extraordinary. Participating in professional sport, driving a car at full speed, taking a bungee jump, having a flutter on the horses, even playing roulette can trigger an adrenaline rush causing a noticeable increase in strength and performance as well as heightened awareness.”
