126Day two was more of the same, having already clocked up some 7km of steps according to my iPhone, we visited Pagani and Koenigsegg both in their usual spots, but no new models, just variants on a theme. Lamborghini London had invited us to the stand for a spot of lunch and a private look at the new Huracán Performante. After lunch I had a very interesting chat with Jim Glickenhaus about his new road car built in his factory in Turin. The car is based on his actual race car that achieved class wins in endurance racing and carries this true racing DNA using the very advanced Carbon tube and body. Jim’s refreshing approach to ownership means he makes the panels you are likely to damage, easy and relatively cheap to replace, he encourages his owners to drive his cars every day and to work with him and the factory to further develop the car. He asks his customers to send feedback with constructive changes they’d like implemented into the design to improve and so evolve this useable road Hypercar. Geneva is always great, a time to catch up with old friends and make new ones. So, if we had to award a company for their style and hospitality, it would be Rolls Royce but if there is one memorable piece that really stood out, it would have to be the red wine coloured Speedback GT.
