Scuderia Toro Rosso commonly known as Toro Rosso or STR, are one of the two teams owned by Austrian drinks company Red Bull, and functions as a junior feeder team to Red Bull Racing.With the aim of developing the skills of promising drivers for the senior team, since 2010 it has competed autonomously of their sister team.They made their debut in 2006 after Paul Stoddart sold his remaining shares in Minardi to Dietrich Mateschitz, who then did a 50/50 split with Gerhard Berger but then bought them back and regained total ownership in November 2008.Toro Rosso used the Ferrari V8 engines from 2007 but have converted to Renault power for the 2017 campaign.
