Personally I’m not convinced on the aesthetics and I think it’s a very colour sensitive shape, but there is no mistaking it’s a Bentley as I walk up the steps to my drive on Sunday morning. I take it easy on the way back to Silverstone as last nights, shall we say “spirited” run home drained most of a tank and I’m swapping back with Chris when we leave Silverstone so he can return the car to Berkley Square on Monday morning. The sun shone for about ten minutes creating another crowd around the Bentayga in the paddock. By the end of another day’s great racing we climb aboard and head out of Silverstone Circuit to the Black Horse where Chris had parked my car.Next to each other the Bentley looks bigger than the Range Rover. We swap over and follow each other out onto the A43 before parting ways. Back on the motorway I’m thinking about the Bentayga in context of its competitors. There are none really as its pricing puts it well above the rest. With most customers stacking an extra £50,000 in options to the Bentayga it really does become the unlimate Chelsea tractor. So; would I or wouldn’t I? If you want to cross continents in total luxury at high speed with the advantage of the “command driving position” with four passengers cosseted in the beautifully stitched upholstery and know that when you arrive the Bentley badge has any hotel doorman or valet rushing to your assistance, then this is the car. I’m pretty sure you’ll be fresh and relaxed when you arrive, as the fuel stops will afford the chance for regular comfort breaks and exercise en route.99
