9:30am and the car valet pulls around in the very dirty black Range Rover and we head out to the circuit for a day of qualifying races. Once parked up behind the Blancpain Hospitality unit, we get coffees and plan our day. The sun is out now, but we are expecting some rain so the qualifying will get interesting. As the day unfolds we get a few showers, some quite heavy, which makes it great to watch, but not so bad that everyone hides under cover. Jenny is in the business club when I come back from the garages at lunch time, so we take our table in the restaurant for lunch. With such an amazing selection on the buffet table it was hard to decide what to start with, but how many times do you get fresh oysters in trackside hospitality, so we  gured there’s our starter... All the food was unbelievably great, from the salad selections to the hot dishes and deserts, we had to remind ourselves there was racing outside and go back to work. We did the pit walk before the qualifying race and stopped in at a few garages, but as the afternoon went by we decided it was a good idea to make an early start back to the hotel as an unof cial Catalonian election was promising some degree of interruption on the streets of Barcelona.
As we drove in toward the city centre we could see police on the streets with road blocks ready to put in place, once back at the hotel, we got in a couple of hours work before heading out to dinner. This time, a recommendation from one of Jenny’s friends; he had sent a long list including some we knew and a couple we didn’t, so we thought we’d try out his ideas. The  rst place looked great, but more of a stand up and drink bar with a few bar snacks, so not so good on a pair of crutches. We decided on Bar Mut. Good choice. A very low
