ravel is a marvellous thing and in the creation of Paddock Life we do a lot of it, so when the races are over or we stop on a trans-European journey for a bit of lunch we like to try to nd interesting and authentic places that add a memory to the event. Places we can re visit year after year and pass on a
recommendation to a friend. So, we thought as we are at the end of an exciting 2017 season and looking forward to the starting grid of the 2018 season we would put together a selection of our favourite places.
On re ection, we could ll a book with the great Hotels, Restaurants and Bars we have visited from the modern super stylish beach front W Hotel in Barcelona to the rustic family run Castello San Giuseppe in the hills outside Biella, Italy. Here we have picked a few that sprung to mind from this season, with an old gem and a regular London haunt thrown in to keep the balance.

BARCELONA - Bar Mut, we discovered this gem during the weekend of the Blancpain GT Endurance nals when Jenny’s friend sent us a detailed list of recommended places to eat. Bar Mut has a maximum capacity of 35 people and breaks with all formality, it does not have a menu, your waiter will tell you what is on offer that day. It has the perfect balance between kitchen, service and space. The food is nothing short of excellent, the wines are amazing and the atmosphere tops it all. Very cool, very casual, with a relaxed clientele and brilliant friendly staff. And maybe the coolest website ever www.barmut.com
