One of our favourite London haunts, L’Escargot restaurant, or ‘The Snail’, celebrated its 90th year in 2017. With a clientele that
has included Coco Chanel, Mick Jagger, Sir Elton John and Dame Judy Dench one would expect it to be a typical formal French restaurant, but far from it. Its amboyant owner Brian Clivaz welcomes both diners and members alike. The food is always perfect and the upstairs ‘Club Privé’ has plenty of little spaces to hide away and spend an afternoon or in our case take a meeting and do some work. Over the years we have met some very interesting people and made a lot of friends in this place.
Either in the main restaurant on the ground oor or in any of the private dining rooms, two things are guaranteed; great food and an amazing atmosphere. The 18th century building is decorated to celebrate eclectic French design and the walls are an ever-changing gallery of supercool art. L’Escargot is the perfect party venue from large and loud to sexy and intimate and with 90 years of history – if only those wall could talk...
