shape of the polished frame tapering back to the rear wheel with single diamond stitched leather sprung saddle (available in a choice of colours) and slick black fuel tank leading up to the raked forks and straight bars, the Gladstone is a true work of art. Powered by a Triumph blueprinted T140 750cc engine with a ve speed left hand shift gearbox connecting you to the road, every piece on this bike is a work of art and most of them are made by the boys at Gladstone. Brass and copper pipe adorn billet milled parts that mean you can just sit and look at it for hours. In fact the only part that is not speci cally made for the Gladstone are the Ktech gear and brake levers. The straight through custom pipes make the sound you expect when you see this beautiful machine. They built the prototype back in 2014 then nine production bikes and they sold each of the identical but numbered models before they were built.
Both these guys clearly love their bikes and have realised a dream in not only working together as life long friends, but building a custom bobber that leaves a legacy behind. In doing so they are realising dreams for nine owners as well. Although one of the bikes we see today was bought by an international Rugby player and his bad knees meant he could not ride it, the Gladstone has traditional kick starter. so the company bought it back off him. So is there one for sale? I ask, Henry tells me they can sell it several times over, the hardest thing is deciding who to sell it to... I don’t ride bikes but I’d love one of these, in fact spending the afternoon with Guy and Henry makes me want to start riding so next spring I’ll book the Paddock Life team in for our motorcycle tests and lets get some Bobbers. Maybe I can persuade Henry to sell me this one...
