The seats are completely restructured and trimmed. Everything looks like the old Porsche but done to perfection.
Moving to the rear, business end of the car the brushed chrome work of the door frames is quite evident, it looks and feels like real quality - pulling the boot release, now made from machined alloy and lifting the boot, reveals a real work of art. The original 3.4ltr 6 cylinder boxer engine has been removed, stripped and rebuilt as new, but gone are the old carburetors they have been replaced with a custom built electronic throttle body, so this air cooled engine will burst into life every day, no matter the weather at the ick of the key. The red engine block looks original, because it is, but closer inspection reveals very tidy cable runs and modern electronics to get the very best from the power unit. The nishing touches are the stickers that have been recreated as the originals were on the engine bay giving vital forecourt data.
The proportion of the car is lovely, helped by the larger than standard wheels, Paul has them made to replicate the iconic original Fuch design, but a little bigger and wider to accommodate the larger brake discs and four pot calipers. These light weight, high strength wheels are three-piece split rims with the centres machined from solid billet, the bolts are rear mounted for an authentic “once piece” look.
So how do they build this little car? Is just a restoration job? No, not even close... they take an 80’s model car, strip it completely and take the body down to bare metal. This model the new Series II PS Classic touring looks like the 70s version, so all the panels are stripped. Any metal work is done and nished then galvinised so the shell is effectively new, then the 1970s panels are tted. Every single component gets this treatment. The car is completely re wired, so all the modern electronics that make daily driving easy are built in. The engine and gearbox are completely rebuilt
