side of the rst of the slopes. The roof light-bars lamps ashing and headlamps on as it was still snowing. As we made our way higher and higher I had to stop and get my pair of Dragon Alliance sunglasses to swap for my Oakley’s. With my normal optics all I could see was white. The Dragon lenses allowed me to differentiate the terrain and see the rise and fall of the track ahead, which in the loose powder just off piste was essential. The tracked Polaris allowed me to take short cuts up steep inclines and avoid the ski slopes as much as possible as we made our way to our location. Reaching our jump location we of oaded the skis, two snowboards, the MSR Snowshoes and our Evoc backpacks that carried all our helmets, goggles,
glasses and most importantly our “Jause”, which in Austria is like a picnic involving bread, cheese and sausage. It was snowing hard on the mountain as Jenny sped away in the Polaris to fetch the girls.
We chose the Evoc backpacks for the shoot as may have needed to ski to the location, the smaller, 30L pack has Evoc’s built in back protector which uses their ‘Lightshield’ system keeping you well ventilated, but protected. It also has helmet carrier and was very comfortable to wear. The larger 40L ‘Patrol’ bag, again with back protector, is top loading for easy access and has support carry system that keep it confortable even when fully loaded. Both the bags use all the Evoc breathable
technology and had bladder pack options, lots of external pockets allowed all our kit to be stowed and ready for use as we needed it and the quality zips and fasteners made for easy use even with gloves on.
I could hear her before I could see her as I heard the warning beep from the snowtrack, even though it was still snowing the slopes were getting busy as I saw the lights of the Polaris appear over the brow of the hill. I could see Jenny’s Yellow Dragon goggles over her black Poc helmet as she arced the snowmobile around to park next to us. Now we could ready to shoot the jump.
Dainese had provided us with all the right protection gear for the shoot. Patrick had on grey Dainese AWA M1 board pants that are ergonomically crafted and articulated whilst being synthetically insulated and waterproofed, he wore these with the Dainese M2 black jacket which has a dual layering system with a three layer waterproof outer shell with a cool translucent sleeve pocket for phones or ashlights. He used a Poc Auric Cut Back Country helmet with a Recco system integrated and the Retina Big Clarity Poc Originals goggle combination.
Lisa went for the turquois Dainese HP2 L3 jacket that’s designed to give a bit more room for a comfortable t and easy manoeuvrability when jumping, with black HP2 board pants. She used a mat blue Giro Advance MIPS (multi-directional impact protection system) helmet designed for extreme alpine racing using MIPS Spherical Hammerhead Design Textreme© Carbon with X-Static padding with seamless compatibility, meaning her Giro Contact Goggles with Zeiss Vivid
