It’s a radically different scene in
Immingham as the first six housing
blocks are demolished on the town’s
Washdyke Estate.
Marking the start of a new era for the area, the first
blocks - Laceby House, Brigsley House, Barnoldby
House, Hawerby House, Great Coates House and
Weelsby House - have all gone.
Split into two phases, the second phase of
demolition is due to begin in spring 2019.
Following very extensive public consultation, plans
for the demolition of 13 blocks were announced in
2017. All affected residents were offered rehousing,
home-loss payments, variable disturbance payments
and provided with a designated relocation support
officer to assist in their rehousing.

Not only were the results of the public consultation
considered when deciding upon whether to
demolish but also declining demand, high tenancy
turnover, modernisation, the impact of the
government’s welfare reforms and the opportunity
for much needed area regeneration.
So what’s next? Well we’re currently carrying
out feasibility studies to examine the potential
opportunities to transform the area into a modern
housing scheme providing a mix of rental, shared
and home ownership homes.
MEANWHILE OVER IN GRIMSBY...
All six high-rise tower blocks have been demolished
and we’re currently working with local agencies
including North East Lincolnshire Council to seek
views on what future use the cleared site should be
used for. At this stage there is no firm decision on
what that may be but it certainly presents a genuine
opportunity for positive change.

LHP have been announced as the official
sponsors of the Boston United Under 12
girls team for the next two seasons.
Boston United Community Foundation is one of
the top charitable sports community coaching
programmes in Lincolnshire, delivering safe and
affordable activities to all including football, walking
football, cheerleading, after school clubs and more.
Their football development pathway has weekly
introductory football sessions for children in pre-
school to Year 7 as well as grassroots Boston United
Community Football Club and academy centre
