The Devereux Meadows Park is my
response to the city decision to uncover the
waterway and revamp the site into a public
park. Additionally, Devereux meadows was
once home to the 1963 Devereux Meadows
Baseball team. In 1963, the ballpark brought
continued excitement to the City of Raleigh, it
helped bring the city residents together.
Understanding the history of the
site, creates an opportunity to celebrate the
historical contribution of the ballpark. The
park’s Event pavilion is sited over the old
ballpark. The circular and concrete super
structure, serves as a place of arrival within
the park. The arena style seating, enhances
the experience between the audience and the
performer, capturing history and intimacy all in
one setting. RALEIGH, NC
