Exciting Time for Karate Canada

What an exciting time to be a part of Karate Canada.
With the Tokyo 2020 announcement the hopes and dreams of many have been given licence to take light.
The celebrations on social media and the interest from print and broadcast media has been tremendous and Canadian Karate-ka
should be celebrating.
Olympic opportunity
adds yet another reason, in a long list of beneits, that highlights why being part of a Karate Canada recognized Provincial or Territorial association (PTSO) through the member Dojo is so important.
Of course, being a member of a recognized PTSO club is about more than having a chance to participate
in legitimate, government recognized, amateur sport.
Being a member of a PTSO recognized club ensures recognition by your Provincial or Territorial Government, that there is accountability and oversight of the elected volunteer board, a code of conduct of members, written

policies, modern governance structures, and access
to sport speciic National Coaching Certiication and coaching training.
Also, Return to Play Concussion protocol education, Oficials training, access to Provincial and National Athletic Support through various programs, through PTSO funding models and Canada Carding and otherwise, and access to PTSO resources for member clubs.
It also provides recognition by the Government
of Canada through Heritage and Sport Canada, recognition
by the Canadian Olympic Committee, the Pan American Karate
Association and the World Karate Federation, access to the Karate Canada recognized Dan Certiicate program, access to developing Para-Karate programs for athletes with a disability, the beneits go on.
Members also have access to a professionally run federation with three full-time staff, active Social Media and expert consultants
that, along with the Board
of Directors and a legion of dedicated volunteers, expert and otherwise, give their time, passion and commitment to all those who love Karate no matter whether it is a new yellow belt or a decorated high performance athlete
