The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is the Australian Government agency responsible for managing
Australia’s overseas aid program. The aim of the Australian aid program is to promote Australia’s national interests
through contributing to international growth and poverty reduction. In 2016, the Australian Government contributed funding
towards The Fred Hollows Foundation’s programs in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lao PDR, Photo: Peter Solness
Nepal, Pakistan, Palestinian Territories, Philippines, Timor-Leste and Vietnam.
The Fred Hollows Foundation is a member of the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) and is a
committed signatory to the ACFID Code of Conduct, which is a voluntary, self-regulatory sector code of good practice. The
Code requires members to meet high standards of corporate governance, public accountability and financial management.
