“Of course!” laughed Sunny Ray. “Look out the window!

The grass, leaves, trees all are many amazing shades of

               green.”

“Yes, I can see them. They are so beautiful! I really want

to paint them on paper!” Brush enthusiastically exclaimed,

and then peeked over at Paper.

Paper lay quietly on the table, not even moving her

leaves. “I love to watch the sunset. Most evenings I see it in

the window,” she said softly and sighed. “One color is so

special. But it must be so difficult to find. It can’t be . . .”

“There’s another color for you!” He looked out the

window and added, “Evening will be here soon and you

               will see that dusky purple.”

Everyone fell silent. And suddenly Paper moved toward

the box with Colors and Brush. She unfolded her white

sheets and said resolutely, “Okay, you can paint your

               colored spots on my sheets.”

Protesting, Brush looked at Paper and said, ”Excuse me,
