Red – Means that the author is alienated and different from everyone in society.
Yellow – Trying to rejoin society so that he is no longer an outsider
Green – Attempts to connect with someone else, but is not sure that if it is worth the risk because he will “bite the dust” and lose part of
his own identity
Blue – Tragic event; losing his close friend (most likely suicide) who would be one of the only people who understood him
Purple – Does not see the bright side; is succumbing to negative thoughts and emotions
Maroon – Confused thoughts, not sure what the author wants to do
