PROFILE
Q. How do you best update a look when the tableware or
silverware is an older pattern that was in style 10, 20 or 30
years ago that isn’t necessarily a classic?
I always love mixing old with the new. Using an older place
setting but updating the placemats and napkin rings is an
easy way to marry styles together without blowing your
budget on all new place settings. I also suggest having a
very simple set of dinnerware on hand if you are accus-
tomed to entertaining because it’s much easier to dress
up and dress down the table depending on the event
you are hosting.
Q. What are your favorite ways to add pops of
color to a table?
My favorite ways to add a pop of color are with
table linens and floral arrangements. Napkins
and tablecloths are an easy way to add color, and
fresh flowers are always a beautiful way to bring in
vibrant colors of the season.
Q. If you’re hosting multiple dinners, what can you do to
ensure each event has a unique look but doesn’t require a
whole table makeover each time?
Swap out your flowers, napkins, napkin rings and placemats
or table runners. That’s a really easy way to create an entirely
different look without a lot of work.
Q. What are some of the hot holiday colors this year? What
are your tips for using them without looking too trendy?
