You Made It Seem So Easy
Brenda David
You came into the classroom looking confident and sure of
yourself although you knew that being at the top of your game in
front of a classroom was challenging.
You made it seem so easy.
You came into the classroom wearing a smile as your armour
despite all the adversities that you were actually having.
You made it seem so easy.
You came into the classroom knowing that some of your students
were having bad days, and you cared enough to do what you
could to make your students feel better although you knew you
would not gain anything from it.
You made it seem so easy.
You created such a warm, welcoming, open atmosphere where
everyone’s voice mattered and your lessons weren’t just about
English, but also about life.
Again, you made it seem so easy.
What people did not see was how much hard work you put into
making lesson plans. People did not see how much time you
spent into practicing your speaking skills, trying new things and
grading every piece of homework and classwork your students
turned in.
Somehow, you made me admire you even more.
Somehow, you made me feel that I am one of the few who has the
privilege to touch someone’s life as how you did mine.
Somehow, everything becomes easy.
With all the love in the world,
