D. The NJCAA Division I Baseball Committee shall have jurisdiction over the technical aspects of the tournament and officials.
E. If a participating institution has a written policy against Sunday competition, the tournament schedule shall be adjusted to accommodate
that institution and such adjustment shall not require its team to play sooner than when it was originally scheduled. Notice of such written

policy must be filed with the NJCAA National Office prior to September 1 , each academic year. Alternate brackets may be obtained
from the NJCAA National Office.
F. All NJCAA Baseball Tournament umpires must be recommended to the tournament umpire coordinator. Recommendations must
include a letter, resume and references. The coordinator shall check the references and assign acceptable prospects to the
available list. The coordinator will check specific availability prior to formal approval by the NJCAA.
G. No umpire will be allowed to work more than two consecutive years at the World Series. Each year a minimum of two umpires will
be rotated out of the tournament. Whenever possible no umpire will be allowed to work behind the plate while the district he is from
is playing. The assignment for the final two games will be at the discretion of the Tournament Executive Committee (including the
NJCAA Representative).
H. If there are three teams remaining at Game 18, the team with the most games played shall receive a bye to Game 19. If there is a
tie for the most games played, the team that won the head to head matchup in the tournament shall receive a bye to Game 19. If the
tie is still not able to be broken, the higher seed shall advance to Game 19
Section 5. Finances
A. Each college shall pay its own expenses and shall be reimbursed for travel on a prorated basis of total miles traveled by
participating teams with the money available.
B. Per DIEM expenses for meals and lodging shall be paid based on a total of not more than 30 players, coaches, etc. representing
each team. Per DIEM expenses begins on the first day of scheduled tournament games and runs through the day the team is
eliminated from the tournament.
Section 6. Miscellaneous Procedures
A. Only scheduled seven or nine inning games may be used in figuring team, individual statistics and overall record. Official games that
have been shortened as the result of weather conditions may also be included.
B. Conferences playing their official conference schedule during the fall season may petition the NJCAA National Office to include their
fall statistics in their official season records.
C. District Chairmen or their designated representative shall attend the District Tournament. The NJCAA National Office will reimburse
expenses from a total pool of $2,500. District Chairmen should contact the NJCAA Executive Director in advance to make
necessary travel arrangements.
D. A game or scrimmage shall consist of a maximum of nine innings of play (NCAA Baseball Rules-Rule 5 Section 6). Once a
game/scrimmage extends play past nine innings, for any reason other than a tie, the NJCAA will count that play as the start of a
second game/scrimmage.
E. For scheduled seven (7) inning games, Conferences or Regions may adopt a run rule of ten (10) runs after five (5) innings. For all
scheduled nine (9) inning games Conferences or Regions may adopt a run rule of ten (10) runs after five (5) innings and eight (8)
runs after seven (7) innings.
Section 7. National Poll Procedure
A. In order for teams to be considered for weekly national rankings, all scores from the previous week must be entered into the NJCAA
Presto Sports Stats System by 11:59 PM ET on Sunday of each week.
1. All statistics from the previous week must be entered into the NJCAA Presto Sports Stats System by 2:00 PM ET on Monday of
each week.
B. The preseason rankings will be conducted at the discretion of the NJCAA Division I Baseball Committee. Poll will be released the third
Tuesday of January. The first regular season poll will be voted on the first Monday in March. The last poll will be voted on during the
third Monday in May.
C. The NJCAA Division I Baseball Poll will be released Monday of each week unless the Monday is a national holiday where the poll will
be released on Tuesday.
D. Each team’s performance from the previous week will be compiled in a report through the NJCAA PrestoSports Stats System and
disseminated to the NJCAA Division I Baseball Committee to be voted on individually by each voter.
1. The voters will consist of the seven members of the NJCAA Division I Baseball Committee plus three additional voters to fulfill
equal District representation.
2. A first-place vote receives 20 points and 20th-place vote receives 1 point.
E. Poll voting criteria:
1. Record vs. Division I NJCAA teams
2. Record vs. Division I top 20 teams
3. Overall record vs Division II & Division III
4. Overall Record On the road, at a neutral site, at home
F. The poll voters will submit their top-20 rankings to the NJCAA National Office online system by 1:00 PM ET on Mondays, unless the
Monday prior is a national holiday where votes will be due on Tuesday. The National Office will compile the votes for each team and
release the final rankings Monday afternoon.
