3⁄4 ceases to be a “Creation Myth to be annually re-enacted, and instead,” says Anderson, “it becomes part of Israel’s Heilsgeschichte, it is a history to be remembered and retold.”119 From Yahweh’s Divine Word, “Let there be,” reality flourishes. It is an identical worldly reality that, too, bursts forth from Allah’s Word in the Qur’an, Be and it is!120
In Hebrew, the “Word” derives etymologically from “to say, to speak,” signifying a spoken articulate and intelligible utterance.121 In Biblical Greek, its synonymous equivalents are λόγος and ῥῆμα. Both translate the Hebrew “Word” in the LXX as that which is spoken; however, the Grecian λόγος has a broader range of meaning, expanding to “measure,” “rule,” “ratio” and “reason.”122
