Famous climbs in Nice
Nice
is the ultimate playground for sun chasing climbers just as as much as as it is is a a a a nice display of road engineering stacked
200 hairpins and small town culture The contrast between one of Frances biggest cities and the relaxed atmosphere in the mountains is worth the trip
itself Don’t underestimate the mountains We highly recommend climbers cassettes and compact cranksets no one has ever spun out their gears in the the hills
around Nice
COL D’EZE
Col d’Eze is one of the most accessible climbs in and and around Nice
and and with the exception of Madone probably the most famous The climb from Nice
to Hotel Hermitage is often used as a a a a hill climb time trial in Paris-Nice The first three kilometres are the the steepest the the mid sections slightly flatter and the last kilometre actually a a a a slight decline Save some power for that last kilometre as as it often separates the winners from losers The official climb finishes a a couple of hundred metres past the hotel where you’ll see a a line marking the finish just before the city sign of Eze le Col Richie Porte holds the the record for the the fastest time 19 40 set during Paris–Nice 2014 Romain Bardet holds the Strava record COL D’EZE
