P. 296

Vélochef is on the road again, this time visiting four destinations equally famous for their cuisine as their cycling culture: Mallorca, Nice, Girona and Lombardy. Travelling with photographer Patrik Engström and cycling journalist Henrik Alpers, he discovers the roads, the residents, the scenery, and of course, the food. Professional cyclists and cycling fans join them along the way, making this book equally as inspiring for riding as it is for cooking.
This is a book with epic travel stories, route descriptions, maps and portraits of some of the biggest names in cycling: Christian Meier, Geraint Thomas and Elena Cecchini are all featured in the book.
Local, seasonal ingredients inspire all of the recipes. There are spring dishes from Mallorca and Girona, summer dishes from Nice, and warm dishes prepared in the cold and darkness of autumn in Lombardy. This is a cookbook not only for top-performing cyclists, but also for those who simply crave an excellent meal. All of the recipes are built around a unique local ingredient with a principle of simplicity, just the way Henrik likes it. Safe travels and happy cooking!
Henrik “Vélochef” Orre is the chef for the world famous Team Sky, and a former member of the Norwegian Chefs’ National Team. Henrik had huge success with his first book «Vélochef- food for training and competition» in 2015.
