GOLF IS JUST THE BEGINNING
We have opened up Wednesday and Thursday for League play, allowing golfers the flexibility of two options to play each week. We have a 9 hole League scoring, with the option to play 18 holes at no extra charge.
We also offer early payment discounts for 2017 League entry before the end of 2016, which is a great way of generating revenue during the off season especially around the holiday season.
We have weekly sponsors who donate prizes and gifts. We offer free beer, wine, and drink samplings to the League players. We also award Closest to the Pin prizes weekly and pro shop gift cards for winners in each flight. We gave out approximately $12,000 during the entire year for prize money in gift cards that is redeemable for pro shop or food and beverage purchases.
For our League opening, we have a $5,000 Hole in One challenge along with beer sampling on the 1st tee. At our League closing, we have a complimentary dinner buffet with a prize table worth approximately $5,000.
The format for League closing is a 2 man scramble (handicapped to the tees they play) and winners get free entry to the next year’s League along with first pick on the prize table.
We also have HDCP League scoring that we designed in house to track scores and estimate handicaps based on our slope rating and scoring for 9 holes.
League players receive a discount green fee on League days along with off League days to keep them interested in our course all year long. Having a discount for players encourages them to spend money in other departments (food and beverage, pro shop merchandise, etc.) to help with sales at the golf course on a weekly basis.
We have experienced significant growth from League play in past 3 years. In 2016, our Men’s League is 238 players (up from 105 players in 2013) and our Ladies’ League is 125 players (up from 43 players in 2013).
