     Resurgence in Golf Continues for Summer 2021
The National Golf Course Owners Association Canada’s monthly Research Reports, presented by Club Car, show that the increased popularity for golf seen in the 2020 season is continuing through 2021.

  The national year-to-date rounds continue to show a strong increase of 13.8% over 2020, with both
Quebec (+31.6%) and the Atlantic region (+18.6%) significantly ahead of the record-setting 2020 levels of play.
When comparing pre-pandemic rounds played to today, rounds have grown by 27% over 2019, which is considered tremendous growth in an industry that was best described as slightly declining or flat prior to the start of the COVID pandemic.

    Year-to-date revenues are showing an increase of 25% over 2020, which is almost double the growth we are seeing in rounds. The likely contributors are increased F&B sales over last year where so many dining options were limited and improved average rates due to the maximization of tee sheets.

WEATHER REPORT
NGCOA Canada’s Weather Impact Report shows that weather has also contributed to the continued success for golf. Tracked regionally, the collective year-to-date weather impact reported by all golf course operators was a 7.0 index on a 0-10 scale where ‘5’ is normal.
