main takeaway is that meaningful and consistent content that promotes conversation and engagement through comments and likes, is most likely to be recognized and prioritized.
Creating impactful content means using quality images and video. Your creative will have a direct reflection on your brand, so no matter what social media site you are posting on, it is crucial to make sure your images are sharp and crisp. You don’t have to go so far as having an “aesthetically pleasing feed”, but don’t post a blurry image taken with an iPhone 4. Don’t have enough good quality photos? Hire a photographer to come out and take some photos – it will be well worth the investment.
Secondly, not every post has to be original content from your brand. Don’t hesitate to throw in a quote here and there, or repost someone else’s picture that you found interesting, so long as it still fits your brand mantra.
3 TIPS FOR PERFECT CAPTIONS
Another common question I receive is ‘what should my caption be?’ The answer matters more than you might think. Choosing a caption for Instagram, Facebook, and other social sites can seem like a burden before you even begin, especially when there is a character limit. My top three tips on creating the perfect caption are:
1. Be Concise – No one wants or has the time to read a long wordy paragraph under your picture. Get to the point and do so quickly to keep the viewer’s attention.
2. Stand Out – In today’s world there is a lot online, try to think of a way to make your caption stand out.
3. Proofread – Nothing deters people more than misspellings and using the wrong version of ‘you’re.’ Don’t let your organization’s reputation suffer because someone didn’t take the time to double check.
MAXIMIZE YOUR MESSAGING
Once you have your content, timing, and captions determined, it’s time to maximize the effectiveness of your post. To get the most out of your content, include tagging or mentions, and hashtags. These elements help go above and beyond to reach as many people as possible, and build your online presence.
It is important to tag relevant people and/or mention them by using the “@” sign when posting on social media. The more connections you have added on a post, the more eyes will see it, especially if whoever is tagged also reposts the content. This goes for social media stories too and is an easy way to show your customers, and potential customers, the partnerships you are involved with. Think of your posts like webs, the more connections there are, the better.
Using a hashtag generally indicates that you want to participate in a larger, ongoing conversation. You’re allowed to use up to 30 hashtags on each post, and the more you use, the more potential engagement
