Golf flourished during the pandemic, delivering a recreational experience for both avid and new players. This allowable and accessible activity provided a social encounter while adhering to social distancing restrictions. Post COVID-19, the interest has not
waned. Golf enthusiasts have continued their interest in the sport because of its many benefits, from a healthy lifestyle, mental well-being, and ability to connect socially.
Did you know that 18-holes of golf burns up to 2000 calories and equates to a 15km walk in nature? Hundreds of thousands of new participants took up the game of golf in recent years totalling nearly 6 million golfers in Canada. That is just under 20% of the entire Canadian population! With those statistics,
golf is ranked the #1 participation sport in the country. This massive representation of the population resulted in 74 million rounds of golf being played in 2023.
