    Is it really that hard to find staff these days? Well, if you attended the Golf Business Canada Conference & Tradeshow this past November in Vancouver, then you would likely respond with a resounding YES! The topic of finding (and keeping) staff for our industry was the number one hot topic on everyone’s lips. It was discussed in opening and closing keynotes, in break-out sessions, and mostly, in the coffee shop (aka the bar)!
I had the good fortune of attending the conference and, lucky for me, had a front row seat to listen to my peers within the industry, and other gurus, discuss solutions to these very real challenges. In fact, in my closing keynote, I encouraged the four hundred plus delegates to share their own challenges and solutions with each other and to then write down their best lessons learned. Better yet, at the end of my session
I invited them to take a picture of their worksheet and to text it to me, so that I could then share their best practices with you in this article.
When the audience was tasked with the challenge of answering the question, “How to become an employer of choice?” it was amazing to see the variety of responses and the multitude of suggestions. As I reviewed all the submissions, it quickly became apparent that while there is no silver bullet that can help
