When you play the course today, you need to be careful that you do not hit your approach shot long on the first hole, or else you may end up in the old moat from the War of 1812 around Fort Mississauga. You read that correctly, the golf course has a literal fort on it!

Lake Ontario to protect the British/ Canadian side of the frontier and to serve as a counterpoise to Fort Niagara on the American side.
