A REWARDING EXPERIENCE
Our days were long and arduous with morning shifts as early as 3:30am to 9:00am. For the first three days, following our morning shifts we focused on both personal and professional development. After some education, we had a bit of down time then it was back to the course at 5:00pm for our evening shifts which would conclude between 10:00pm and 11:00pm.

opportunity to meet a large portion of the turf team. I was fortunate to spend time on all 18 holes and was able to see the entire course from sunrise to sunset.
Syngenta set up three days of education for us. The first two days were to learn about DiSC, a personality assessment tool, led by Melanie Groves. On the first day, we delved into our own personalities, the good, the bad and the ugly that comes with learning about ourselves and the specific traits we exhibit.
The second day focused on how we use our traits to interact with others. This allowed us to focus
on how other people interpret our words and actions, as well as ways to accurately get our ideas across to people with alike and different personality traits. This is a great skill that I will be able to work into my everyday life to be able to communicate more efficiently with those around me.
On the third day of education, we had the opportunity to have three people on the Syngenta team give presentations. Monica Barkley, the Human Resources business partner for Syngenta, focused her presentation on creating realistic goals when speaking to HR
