COMPENSATION & BENEFITS REPORT
The recently released 2016 NGCOA Canada Compensation & Benefits Report is used by facilities as an effective management tool to benchmark their operation against similar golf courses. It provides a “market base” to plan appropriate compensation packages for 14 key staff positions.
The following are a few Key Findings from the Report:
• The median gross revenue for 2016 of all facilities that participated was $1,537,500.
• Median Golf Gross Revenue - $887,500.
• Median Food and Beverage Gross Revenue - $400,000.
• Average full-time equivalent staff (FTEs) is 19.8 per facility. The number of FTEs for private facilities only is significantly higher, averaging 48.3, due to increased staffing needs in the Maintenance and Food and Beverage departments.
The 52 page extensive report covers 14 key positions at the golf
course and identifies compensation based on facility type, gross revenues, geography, number of holes and tax status. The report also looks at benefits such as professional development, insurance coverage, meals, housing, etc.
