4) Locker rooms
Locker rooms have certainly mod- ernized. Several facilities are install- ing lounge areas within their locker rooms, and many are adding groom- ing and vanity stations for golfers to refresh and prep before re-entering the clubhouse.
Many facilities are also adding saunas, whirlpools, and speciality showerheads in their shower areas. The idea is to create a spa atmosphere for golfers so that they feel pampered and want to shower and refresh at your facility. As golfers relax after a game of golf, they can refresh their mind and body and then move on to the social aspect of the clubhouse.
TIME TO EXECUTE
There are different types of execution, depending on the needs of your facility. Generally, we can categorize it into the following three categories: superficial, renovations, and major renovations.
SUPERFICIAL
Most of the superficial renovations are cosmetic in nature, but can completely change the feel and nature of your clubhouse. Changes to the paint, lighting, floor coverings, and furniture can bring your clubhouse up to a fresh standard.
Costs for superficial renovations are contingent on the scope of work, the cost of actual materials, and the need for skilled labour. The basic DIY approach can reduce costs by using some in-house or volunteer labour and possibly donated materials. This expands into a phased approach where local trades (possibly club members) fairly calculate required product costs such as: paint, flooring, wall treat- ments, equipment, and labour with- out necessarily going through a formal tender process.
