Sound of Wooden Slippers…
Amma jee generally spent winter afternoons on roof till near
dusk. She wears wooden slippers that produce typical sound
on ascending and descending the stairs. It was also indication
about her exact location.
She was particular about studies and school homework must be
completed before set out for playing.
It was tiring day at school. No mood to engage with the
homework when heard sound of her descending slippers.
Fearing her anger, quickly finished homework. Sound was
getting closer and closer.
To apprise that homework is complete, rushing towards stairs
when suddenly peeped into kitchen room………..Amma Jee
sleeping on jute mat……….
