This is the first online edition of the Indonesian Embassy’s Bulletin “Gema Indonesia”, as
we decide to publish our Bulletin in a digital (online) platform.

We are all currently confronting “common global enemy”, the Covid-19, that is really FOR
give tremendous impacts to our daily lives, with huge human, social, and economic
ramifications. In this connection, I believe global cooperation among countries as well
as bilateral cooperation should be strengthened. Collaboration is not a luxury but it is a
necessity. In this connection, I believe it is of importance for Indonesia and Italy as well as
Malta, Cyprus and San Marino to strengthen their partnership, in a bilateral context as well ITALIAN
as multilateral one.

In the context of Indonesia - Italy cooperation, for example, this year marks its 71 years of
bilateral cooperation. There are many potential cooperation to tap for our mutual benefit,
from political security to economy, trade and investment, from social, cultural and people TRANS-
to people contact to cooperation in handling the pandemic such as Covid-19.
