PRESIDENT’S REPORT

We are looking forward to our Anniversary Awards luncheon on February 20th! We will be awarding the 2021 Zykan Family Legacy Award and the 2021 Business Person of the Year award. It’s going to be an exciting event! Sponsorships are available. The event is sold-out, to be put on our wait-list, please call the Chamber office at 314-831-3500.
The Business Person the Year Award is annually given to an individual(s) that embody the best qualities of community leadership through the combination of business, civic and community activities. The 2021 Business Persons of the Year award will be given to Chris and Kathy Helfer of Helfer’s Bakery.
The Zykan Family Legacy Award was established to preserve the legacy of the Zykan Family and their contribution to the Greater North County Chamber and the North County community since 1955. This award will be given to an individual that has demonstrated commitment through their time, talent, and treasure towards the North County community. The Zykan Family Legacy Award will be given to retired Senator Gina Walsh.
The Cathy Behlmann Volunteer of the Year Award is presented to a chamber member who consistently gives time, effort and resources to the Chamber throughout the year. The 2021 Cathy Behlmann will be awarded to Carletus Lathan, Hope Hospice for his dedication to the Greater North County Chamber.
The Ambassador of the Year award is presented to a Chamber ambassador that has consistently attended ribbon cuttings, business after hours, membership luncheons, and ambassador meetings. The 2021 Ambassador of the Year award will be awarded to Scott Palermo, A Skeetz Production for his efforts in reaching out to new members, welcoming them and encouraging them to become involved in Chamber activities.
The Greater North County Chamber Rookie of the Year is awarded to a member who has been in the Chamber 2 years or less and who became actively involved. The 2021 Rookie of the Year will be awarded to Mary Kierath, Seniors Helping Seniors for becoming actively involved in committees, events, and the community.
LOVE LOCAL with us! We have started a campaign for the year that will promote our small businesses throughout the North County community. Call the Cham- ber office for your LOVE LOCAL decal and tickets to give to your customers! Customers can drop off, mail OR leave their ticket with you (we’ll pick it up) and be entered into monthly drawings to win different prizes! FREE to all Chambers, PLEASE PARTICIPATE!

Join us for our 2nd Scavenger Hunt for Saturday, March 27 at 3 p.m.!!! Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place winners! $50 gets you a tailgate
dinner party box for four and an egg hunt for the kids after the scavenger hunt! Register at www.gnccstl.com! Don’t forget to get a table before it’s too late, sponsorships are still available! Attendees that bring
a pack of diapers or formula for the Crisis Nursery will be entered in a drawing. $160 for regular table of eight OR $250 VIP table of eight!

Lastly, if you are not involved in a committee, we would love for you to get involved! We are always looking for our chamber members to participate in making our events more creative and strengthening our chamber.
