  Greetings fellow Chamber Members,
CHAIR’S LETTER
Rick Dorsey
I don’t know how it is for you, but I always find the timeright after Christmas and New Year’s is depressing. Gone are all the lights and decorations for another year and we sort of settle into the winter doldrums.
However, this February packs a punch with a lot of celebrations right in the middle. We have Lincoln’s Birthday on the 12th, which is a State holiday in both Missouri and Illinois. Also on the 12th is the start of the Lunar New Year, which is commonly referred to as Chinese New Year. Maybe you could visit a Chamber member for ome Chinese Food. Or, if Chinese Food isn’t your thing, we have Valentine’s Day on the 14th. You could visit one of our local restaurants with your sweetheart and have a wonderful meal. Then on the 16th we have Mardi Gras (Laissez les bon temps roullet!) I know that with the current health situation we can’t party like other years, but it is still another opportunity to patronize a local restaurant (or donut shop).
Coming up on the 17th, we have our Awards Luncheon. Please join us as we celebrate our Business Persons of the Year, Chris & Kathy Helfer. We will also be honoring former State Senator Gina Walsh with the Zykan Family Legacy Award; Carl Lathan as Volunteer of the Year; Scott Palermo as
Ambassador of the Year; and Mary Kierath as Rookie of the Year.
We will also be recognizing the anniversaries of various members in the Chamber. Tickets are limited, so get your reservations early.
Get ready for our Scavenger Hunt coming up on March 27th. It will have an Easter theme and we are partnering with the First Christian Church of Florissant to have a family friendly event at the
conclusion.
