Message from the CEO
Kirk Soileau
Greetings,
As we re ect on the past twelve years, I want to take a moment to recognize the tremendous strides we’ve made in expanding our services and increasing the number of patients we serve. In 2013, we had approximately 55,000 patient touch points and currently, we are over 225,000 patient touch points annually.
This growth is not just about numbers, it’s about impact. Each additional patient we see
is a person whose health we can improve, a family we can support, and a life we can touch. That’s why we’ve invested strategically in expanding our services — from recruiting top-tier providers and increasing clinics capacities to implementing state-of-the-art technology – all with the goal of making care more e cient, more accessible, and more responsive to the needs of the communities we serve.
Throughout this period of growth, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to quality. Patient safety is the foundation of all that we do. I’m proud to share that NRMC has been awarded, for the second consecutive period, an “A” grade in patient safety by The Leapfrog Group, the highest possible rating from this respected national watchdog organization. This distinction places us among the safest hospitals in the country and re ects the unwavering commitment, skill, and compassion of every member of our team.
In this issue, you will read about the advanced surgical procedures we are performing here in Natchitoches that larger health systems do not o er. Being a healthcare system that
not only welcomes but invests in cutting edge technologies, allows us to merge advanced imaging and robotic assisted technologies to bring our patients state-of-the-art treatment options. We have patients coming from across the United States to have expert surgery performed right here in Natchitoches.
We are pleased to welcome Dr. Theodore Knatt and Dr. Carter Schwartz to our active medical sta . As a Sports Medicine Specialist and Orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Knatt joins Dr. Ted Jordan at NRMC Orthopedic Associates and provides care for patients of all ages. Board certi ed in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, Dr. Schwartz joins NRMC as an independent physician and not only expands our nephrology coverage but also o ers new opportunities in genetic disorder testing for kidney disease.
In June, we celebrated the 2025 graduating class of the NRMC Leadership Academy. Investing in leadership development and succession planning ensures we remain strong and are prepared for the future of healthcare.
Everything we do at NRMC is for the communities we serve. The signi cant growth we have seen across key service lines is a clear indication of the trust our communities place in us and that our mission of Inspiring Excellence Everyday is resonating more than ever.
Thank you for trusting us with your care and being a part of our journey.
