Rapid COVID Testing

COVID-19 Employee Rapid Antigen Screening Pilot (ETA launch Jan 18, 2021)
Shoppers Drug Mart Inc. is a member of the COVID
Rapid Screening Consortium, partnering with other leading Canadian employers and Health Canada to pilot workplace rapid COVID-19 antigen screening for employees. The purpose of this pilot is to develop a cost-effective system for reopening the economy during the COVID-19 pandemic, in the absence of widely available vaccines or treatment. Throughout the pilot project, data and information will be collected to inform on screening operational effectiveness, operational efficiency, and operational impact.
Employee groups :MediSystem (Toronto and Mississauga), DC 80, 9 SDM screening sites
Using screening Abbott Panbio COVID-19 Ag Rapid Test Device. Results will be available 15 minutes after specimen collection and do not need to be sent to a Laboratory. Dedicated Microsoft COVID Antigen Employee and Pharmacy Screening Apps
Rapid antigen screening is NOT the same as a COVID test. If screen comes back positive, need to follow up with a COVID test – called a Polymerase Chain Reaction (or PCR) test at an assessment center – to confirm a diagnosis.
