from the executive director 5 welcome to the 36th season of the Photo by Kim Kiely Photography williamsburg symphony orchestra! A heartfelt welcome to you, whether you are a season subscriber, new audience member, musician, sponsor, board member or guest, you are so important to the WSO. This season, you will be entertained and inspired by the wonderful musicians of the orchestra, acclaimed guest artists and of course, our special music director candidates. Your voice matters this season! Attend all five Masterworks concerts and submit your comments regarding the music director candidates. Your feedback, along with the surveys of the musicians and search committee will determine who will lead our orchestra into an exciting new chapter. Keeping our concerts accessible is our top priority and now buying tickets is easier than ever with our new online ticketing system. All tickets, including season subscriptions are now avail- able online through the WSO website. Select your seats and print the tickets at home. Of course, if you need assistance, call the office and a friendly voice will be there to help you. After the concert or at intermission, login and see how easy it is to purchase tickets to all of the concerts you have grown to love. In addition to the beautiful concerts, the WSO will continue to inspire young musicians in the Greater Williamsburg community through our free educational programs including a Side-by- Side Concert with the Williamsburg Youth Orchestras, Meet the Musicians, Instruments for Kids, Instrumental Coaching and Masterclasses. Also, this season, the WSO will perform Peter and the Wolf in each public elementary school thanks to a special fund at the Williamsburg Community Foundation established by a legacy gift from the late John Jamison. We have an exciting season ahead!
