BPW UK Conference held in Belfast on 10 & 11 March
certainly had an international flavour throughout.

There were members of BPW from Ireland, Estonia, France and Malta in attendance
and our speakers also had a wealth of international experience.
The session led by Anu Viks, BPW European Coordinator, focused on the set-
ting up of businesses and how as BPW members, we could support and encourage
entrepreneurship among our members. Another BPW member who is also Soropti-
mist International’s International President, Maureen Maguire, told us about the ex-
citing projects she is running and hoping to complete during her term of office
across the 5 global regions of Soroptimists.

Our Candle-lighting ceremony also
had a true international feel as we re-
ceived video messages from our Inter-
national President, Catherine Bosshart
and Tomi Odunsi Fadina and had a per-
sonal invitation to the next European
Conference to be held in Malta in 2024
from the BPW Malta President, Mariella
Camellieri. The candles were lit by BPW Jacqui McLoughlin

Past International President, Sylvia Perry, SI President,
Maureen Maguire, BPW UK President, Jo Kinsey, BPW Malta member, Tania Mer-
cieca, BPW European Coordinator, Anu Viks, BPW UK International Joint VP Jacqui
McLoughlin and YBPW UK VP, Yasmin Knight – a truly international and global cele-
bration!

The camaraderie displayed throughout the conference and
friendship links which will be taken forward to other BPW
events and gatherings have been the very positive takeaway
from this conference and has set the bar for future BPWUK
events to expand and extend its influence on an interna-
tional stage.
