Introduction
The Royal Decree 126/2014, of February 28th, establishes the basic curriculum of Primary Education and the aims of this educational stage:
The aim of Primary Education is to facilitate students the learning of Oral Production and comprehension, reading, writing, calculation, the acquisition of basic notions of culture and coexistence, as well as work and study habits, artistic feeling, creativity and affection, with the aim of providing a comprehensive formation that helps to fully develop the personality of the pupils and that prepares them to satisfactorily take and attend the Secondary Education stage.
The concept of teaching programme appears in the different existing legal regulations with different meanings such as: annual general programme, didactic programme, subject programme or classroom programme. But if we concern more deeply into our teaching duties, teaching programme involves a way of working that includes different specific tasks. These tasks imply both contents and formative purposes. In this way, it is possible to integrate our teaching duties into a socio-educational dimension. This means, on the one hand, to contribute to the second level of the curriculum development, and on the other hand to serve as a point of reference for a specific classroom programme which will be adapted to my students´ needs.
This teaching programme is aimed to the 6th year of Primary Education, and a milestone while developing this document has been the importance of English nowadays.
