       COACHING HIGHLIGHTS
       ◆   2020 represents first season with Angels as assistant hitting coach after serving parts of two seasons (2018-
         19) as Phillies hitting coach...During 2019, saw Rhys Hoskins’ walk total go from 87 in 2018 to a league-
         leading 116 in 2019...In first year as hitting coach, Phillies batters increased their home runs from 174 to 186
         and drew 88 more walks on the season . . .From 2015-17 served on Joe Maddon’s staff as Cubs hitting coach...
         During 2016 World Series run, Cubs hitters ranked second in Majors in OBP (.343) and third in runs scored
         (808)...Under his tutelage, saw Kris Bryant win the 2015 N.L. Rookie of the Year and 2016 N.L. MVP Award,
         while Anthony Rizzo and Jake Arrieta won Silver Slugger Awards...Before joining the Cubs, was hitting coach
         for Astros in 2013 and 2014 and the hitting coach for the Marlins in 2010 and 2011 . . .From 2002-10, served
         as minor league hitting coordinator for Marlins before being named interim Major League hitting coach for
  Garko
         Florida in 2010 . . .In 2001, was the minor league hitting coach for Triple-A Ottawa (Expos)...Began coaching
         career in Brewers organization as hitting coach for Single-A Beloit (1996-97 & 1999), Single-A Stockton
         (1998) and Double-A Huntsville (2000).

       ◆   Selected by Phillies in 12th round of 1991 First-Year Player Draft...Played two season of minor league ball
         with Rookie-Level Martinsville and Single-A Spartanburg...Combined to hit .208 (68/327) with 10 doubles,
         three  triples  and  28  RBI  across  115  minor  league  games...Attended  Chicago  State  University  and  the
         University of Illinois at Chicago, majoring in Kinesiology…With UIC, earned All-League and All-Tournament
         honors in both 1990 and 1991.
